Rebecca Black is a 13 year old girl whose parents paid Ark Music Production to produce a song and music video for their baby girl. The song called “Friday” is arguably the worst song ever and is undeniably the most disliked song on You Tube. The video has 121,500,603 views on You Tube and 2,417,683 of them are dislikes. However, I am for Team Rebecca Black. We have watched the Friday music video in the PHILO office every Friday since we found out about it. Friday is a great song not because of the usual attributes like lyrics and composition. Friday is a wonderful song because every time we play it we are smiling, joking with each other and having a great time. The song brings people together which at first might seem like it is at the expensive of Rebecca but I assure you it is not. Friday is 110 on the iTunes music chart and was once number 37 on the chart. Rebecca is rumored to be working on a new song called, “LOL” and I would end this by saying it is a great title because she is laughing all the way to the bank. However, Rebecca is giving proceeds from iTunes to the tsunami relief effort in Japan. I am with Team Rebecca. Click the picture below to watch the video.
